This picture, taken from the Washington & Jefferson College Bulletin, March 1913, shows Hays Hall in its first year as a College dormitory following the discontinuation of the Academy the year before. Men already enrolled in the College were given the first chance on the rooms, thus it housed mostly upperclassmen and only a comparatively small number of freshmen. It was not designated a freshmen dormitory until 1915.
